The Balwyn High School Council is responsible for the education policies and plans of the school as outlined by Victorian Government policy. While the teaching staff retain responsibility for deciding how to implement the details of school policy, the School Council formulates policies on various matters such as defining the school’s vision and values, the use of school funds and the employment of ancillary staff. The School Council encourages parent participation in school activities which are regularly outlined in both the school newsletter, the Lion, and the Compass parent portal.
The School Council meets on the third Wednesday of the month and any member of the school community is welcome to attend. The Policies and Programs sub-committee of Council meets on the first Wednesday of each month.
